Three hand dynamometer models are available.

Model 00105 Hydraulic Hand Dynamometer

The Lafayette Hand Dynamometer offers many features for both routine screening work and for evaluating hand trauma and disease.

Accurate and Reproducible
The hand dynamometer is isometric in use, with almost no perceptible motion of the handles, regardless of grip strength. The hand grasp is both comfortable and effective. These features combine to ensure accurate, reproducible results.

Dual-Scale Readout
The system displays grip force in pounds and kilograms — 200 pounds or 90 kilograms maximum reading. For convenience and easy recording, it automatically retains the highest reading on a special peak-hold needle. This reading remains on the gauge until the examiner resets it.

Adjustable Handle
To accommodate various size hands, the handle adjusts to five grip positions: from 1-3/8 to 3-3/8 inches, in half-inch increments. Grip strength may also vary in an individual patient, depending on the size of the object being grasped. The adjustable handle allows therapists to quantify grip strength for different size objects.

Model 5030L1 Professional Hand Dynamometer (PHD)

The Professional model has all the above features and:

• Designed with leak-proof aluminum collars to protect the bellows from damage

Model 5030D1 Digital Hand Dynamometer

Isometric grip force is scored with ±1% accuracy from 0-300 lbs (136.1kg, 1335 N). The Digital Hand Dynamometer has a battery life of 10 hours and can retain up to 250 tests in its data stores or be combined with the Lafayette LEval App to create a database of test scores for storage and generating normative data.

Pinch Gauge

The unique design of the Lafayette Hydraulic Pinch Gauge frees the client to perform a true pinch pattern because the therapist, not the client, supports the weight of the gauge. A highly accurate pinch-force measurement is the result. It measures pinch force up to 45 pounds. Includes instructions and carrying case.

Hand Evaluation Kit

All the basics for hand and finger evaluation in one convenient package. Lafayette Hand Evaluation Kit includes one each of: Lafayette Hydraulic Hand Dynamometer, Lafayette Hydraulic Pinch Gauge, and a 5-1/2 inch Finger Goniometer. All three instruments come in a convenient storage and carrying case with individual compartments for each instrument.
