Montreal, February 3, 1998 -- NexGen Medical Systems, a division of NexGen Ergonomics Inc.(NexGen) is pleased to announce its appointment as a Med-Data Systems' (Med-Data) North American Distributor of its recently introduced ORTHOIMAGER "Image Digitization Software". Initial market response has been very positive with initial orders having already been received.
ORTHOIMAGER is a user-friendly and cost-effective system for performing postural and joint analysis as well as work hardening lift analysis for clinical and industrial applications. Using an image obtained from a digital camera, video, or scanned photo of the joint(s) to be analyzed, data are calculated, displayed or printed quickly. Included with each analysis is a photo of the subject and an anatomically correct skeletal representation of the joint (a virtual x-ray).
ORTHOIMAGER's Lumbosacral Lift Analyst saves valuable time in determining risk assessment for work hardening lifting procedures. The software instantly calculates biomechanics and analysis of lumbosacral torque and compressive/shearing forces on L5/S1.
NexGen is the leading distributor and developer of systems for ergonomic and biomechanical job analysis, design and research. These include sEMG analysis systems, data acquisition systems (including goniometers and force sensors), 3D human modeling software, ergonomic design systems, video analysis systems, as well as many other products. NexGen Medical Systems distributes various products including ORTHOIMAGER, pinchmeters, hand dynamometers and other products.
Med-Data was founded in 1994 and has been involved in the development and distribution of a variety of software products for both the ergonomics and medical markets. These include ORTHOIMAGER, ErgoMaster, as well as a variety of programs for physical testing, functional capacity evaluation and AMA impairments ratings.
