NexGen Ergonomics Announces New Biometrics Products

Montreal, August 23, 2001 -- NexGen Ergonomics Inc. (NexGen) is pleased to announce new products from Biometrics Ltd. Shipments of the new DataLOG (portable datalogger), and DataLINK (on-line data acquisition system) have already commenced.

The new DataLOG is a 12-channel fully portable general purpose data acquisition system allowing the user to collect both analogue and digital data from a wide range of sensors including Biometrics' Goniometers, Torsiometers and contact switches. Examples of other general sensor inputs include Tekscan load sensors, EMG pre-amps, accelerometers, load cells etc. The DataLOG is lightweight and includes 4 Mb of memory and sampling rates up to 1000 Hz. Powerful analysis software makes analysis of captured data in any chosen units simple, allowing easy access of data such as max and min values, mean, number of excursions, count repetitions, XY plots etc.

The DataLINK (On-Line general purpose data acquisition system) has been upgraded to support Tekscan sensors and EMG Pre-amps. As with the DataLOG, each DataLINK channel is individually configured and controlled within the versatile and easy to use Management Software. Options for the analogue inputs include selectable gain, selectable sampling frequency, selectable sensor supply voltage, and selectable zero or datum position. Options for the digital inputs include selectable threshold level and selectable hysterisis level.
